The GlucoSentinel for iPhone application allows GlucoSentinel subscribers to log their test results and comments from their iPhone.
GlucoSentinel is a messaging and alert service that enables diabetics to share their blood sugar test results with their support group (family/friend/doctor) via email or text message.
The GlucoSentinel service is highly recommended for diabetics that experience high and/or low blood sugar levels. The service was designed to keep your support group informed of your status on a daily basis.
Subscribers to GlucoSentinel go through the set up process that includes:
• Setting the high and low blood sugar thresholds
• Setting up information about the subscriber: name, password, email, etc.
• Setting up the address book: adding the names and contact information of the support group
• Setting up the testing schedule: naming the tests in the schedule and determining when they should be taken
• Setting alerts and notifications: determining who in the support group gets what notifications and alerts such as who receives a results announcement, who gets a high blood sugar alert, who gets a missed test reminder, etc.
• Activation of the subscription: Go to www.glucosentinel.com to create your free 30 day subscription.
Once the subscription is active, GlucoSentinel will remind the diabetic to take blood sugar tests. If a scheduled test is missed, an alert will be sent out to the diabetics support group notifying them of the missed test. GlucoSentinel will also provide alerts and notifications to the support group as tests are logged.
Blood sugar test results can be logged by the subscriber on the web by logging in to GlucoSentinel.com or by using the GlucoSentinel iPhone app.
Subscribers can run reports on their blood sugar testing history; reports are by day, include the blood sugar result, the name of the test or list it as an unscheduled test, a time and date stamp as well as any comments logged by the subscriber.
GlucoSentinel was developed to help my wife and I manage her diabetes; we hope that it can be an integral part of any diabetes management and patient well being program.
